Description
English: Cumdivock House. Must have been the principal house to be named with the same name as the place I think. A fellow geographer has provided the following after researching this property since 1981: “Cumdivock House is the ancestral home of the Blamire family. There was a house on the site - just under the porch from the 12th Century. This house originally took in the white part - now Cumdivock farm, and the porch was on the join of the two parts. It was alterd circa 1918. The house is rather unique in that it has a barrel roofed cellar and in the wall of the cellar is the original well again it is a domed recess and is now almost full of rubble. Hope this is of interest”.
