Description
English: The U.S. Navy Curtiss XF7C-1 Seahawk prototype, 11 May 1929. Designed as a naval shipboard fighter, the Curtiss XF7C-1 Seahawk was used by the NACA to test cowling, including the Langley-developed Variable Angle Cowling. Production F7C-1s in Navy service did not have cowlings on the engines or spinners on the propellers. (Text: NASA)
