Description
English: This photo shows customers who are sitting down in the foreground, and queuing up in the background. (The lighting is harsh). The location is a hawker-centre that is named Maxwell, in Singapore. Hawker centres are operated by aging hawkers, some of whom have learnt their cooking skills from their own parents. Due to a lack of successors, hawkers are a dying breed. Singaporean authorities have attempted to list hawker centres as an UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
