| Description |
English: 1968 AMC Rebel convertible that has been customized. Starting with the 1968 model year, the Rambler name was dropped from the intermediate-sized Rebel series by American Motors Corporation (AMC). The SST was the top-model in the Rebel line (the other convertible was in the base 550 trim level. The 1968 model year was also the last year for AMC convertible body style in the domestic designed automobile AMC platform. A total of 1,200 ragtops produced in both series. This car has been customized with a 1970 ram air induction hood scoop, upper side body trim from the 1970 Rebel models, AMC bucket seats from an 1979 or early-1980s Spirit, as well as aftermarket accessories such as the wing on the trunk lid, hood locking pins, alloy wheels, and a steering wheel (on the adjustable tilt steering column). Picture taken after the car show on Saturday that was part of the American Motors Owners Association (AMO) annual convention held near Cleveland, Ohio. |
