Cyrus Francis Clapp (July 29 1851-July 2, 1914) was born in Maine, and moved to the Pacific Northwest in 1870. He worked in the hotel business in Port Townsend, with his uncle, later moving to Dungeness, engaging in logging and farming enterprises. He moved back to Port Townsend to run a bank. He moved to Seattle in 1905 after selling his shares in the bank. While in Seattle, he was a real estate investor. He was also a state senator, representing Jefferson, Clallam and San Juan Counties. He was married to W.M.P. Lacey with whom he had five children.
