editDescriptionCytiau'r Gwyddelod - geograph.org.uk - 895457.jpg |
English: Cytiau'r Gwyddelod These are the bases of Iron Age hutments. They, like the much bigger group on Holyhead Mountain, were excavated in the 19th century by William O Stanley. the squire of Penrhos SH2781 and MP for Anglesey. Although called Cytiau'r Gwyddelod - i.e. Irishmen's hutments - there are no obvious indications that they were built by Irish settlers. |
