Summary edit
DescriptionCytomegalovirus pneumonia (52243162135).jpg |
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) pneumonia usually occurs in immunosuppressed individuals. The red arrow points to a cell with a typical basophilic nuclear inclusion surrounded by a halo. Cytoplasmic inclusions also occur; a couple of small ones are present in the infected cell. The inflammatory cells are mostly macrophages. Other images of CMV infection are included in this collection and may be viewed using the SEARCH function. Images contributed by Dr. Luis Humberto Cruz C - @luishcruzc |
