Description
Français : Appliques de décoration de baudrier romain conservées au Musée gallo-romain de Fourvière, à Lyon, en France. Elles étaient fixées sur le baudrier d'une épée. Elles portent une inscription en latin : "VTERE FELIX", "Utilise-la avec chance !", inv. Br. 7. Ce type d'inscription, qui sert à attirer chance et protection sur le soldat, est aussi connu dans le monde romain sur d'autres supports : des vases en terre cuite, des fibules (épingles pour vêtements) et des ceintures. Ces vestiges font partie d'un ensemble militaire découvert autour des restes d'un squelette dans la rue des Fantasques, à Lyon, dans le quartier de la Croix-Rousse, lors de la construction d'un garage en 1950. Un lot de monnaie en argent se trouvait éparpillé autour de sa taille et devait provenir d'une bourse. L'une de ces pièces de monnaie, un denier daté de 194 après J.-C., fait penser qu'il peut s'agir du squelette d'un soldat romain mort en 197 pendant la grande bataille qui opposa l'empereur romain Septime Sévère à Albinus, non loin de Lyon.
