Description

From yesterdays people who might cast pearls to swine to todays people who might insure those Pearls? Mr. D. O'Connor of 41 Barronstrand Street was proud of his shop and decided to immortalise it by ensuring it would be posted on Flickr.

From today's input, we were reminded that we'd visited this stretch of Barronstrand street before - making this 1931 image something of an "after" shot to an earlier "before" shot from 1907. It seems the entire frontage of this magnificently busy and eclectic premises was shifted backwards a few feet - to better align with other newer buildings on the street.....
