Notes This leaf comes form a dispersed copy of the Razmnama, an abridged Persian translation of the Hindu epic the Mahabharata which was originally commissioned for the Emperor Akbar in 1582. This copy was dated 1025/1616. It is illustrated in the Mughal style with strong Hindu tendencies. The leading artist to work on this manuscript was Fazl. He signed many of the miniatures and is known to have worked on other manuscripts produced outside the Mughal Court for 'Abdul Rahim Khan, Khan Khanan, an important patron of the day
