Description The U.S. Navy destroyer USS Herbert J. Thomas (DD-833) at the completion of her FRAM (Fleet Rehabilitation and Modernization (program)) modernization at the Mare Island Naval Shipyard, California (USA), on 25 August 1965: View looking aft and to port in the DASH (Destroyer/Drone Antisubmarine Helicopter) equipment room, showing the two DASH transmitters. Note the large panels in the bulkhead. These were removable so that the transmitters could be serviced through the bulkhead.
