Description 170917-M-CK339-002 SUEZ CANAL (Sept. 17, 2017) –Sgt. Raymond Wilcox, from Jacksonville, Florida, and assigned to Battalion Landing Team, 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, stands Defense of the Amphibious Task Force (DATF) watch aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22) while transiting the Suez Canal, Sept. 17, 2017. During the DATF, San Diego’s small caliber action team worked together with Marines from the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) to provide 360-degree coverage of the ship. San Diego is deployed with the America Amphibious Ready Group and 15th MEU to support maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.(U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl.
