Object history
Deutsch: Der Rat der Stadt Büren hat nach Abstimmung mit dem Staatsarchiv in Detmold in seiner Sitzung am 13. Juni 1975 die Einführung des oben abgebildeten Wappens beschlossen. Mit Urkunde vom 16. Januar 1976 hat der Regierungspräsident in Detmold der Stadt Büren die Genehmigung erteilt, das abgebildete Stadtwappen zu führen. Gleichzeitig erhielt die Stadt Büren das Recht auf eine eigene Stadtflagge. Mit der Einführung des neuen Wappens wird das bisherige, durch den König von Preußen am 2. September 1908 genehmigte Wappen ungültig.
English: The arms were adopted by the city council on 13 June 1975 and granted on 16 January 1976.
