Object history
Deutsch: Der Name des am 1. August 1971 durch Verbindung zweier Kommunen gebildeten neuen Gemeinwesens verbindet den ersten Namensbestandteil von Burgstall mit dem zweiten von Erbstetten. Dementsprechend wurde auch das neue Wappen aus den Bestandteilen der Wappen der beiden Vorgänger-Gemeinden gestaltet. Dabei repräsentiert das Auge die Gemeinde Erbstetten, deren ungedeutete Wappenfigur das „Gottesauge" gewesen war. Die beiden örtlich als „Wolfseisen" bezeichneten Doppelhaken sind das alte Fleckenzeichen von Bufgstall. Das Innenministerium hat das Wappen und die Flagge am 21. April 1975 verliehen.
