Description
Deutsch: Wappen der ehemaligen Gemeinde Greven links der Ems, seit 1952 Stadtteil von Greven: „Gespalten durch einen Wellenschnitt vorn in Blau und hinten fünfmal geteilt in Silber (Weiß) und Rot.“ Der Wellenschnitt und das Blau stehen die Lage an der Ems. Die wechselnden silbernen und roten Farben entstammen dem Wappen der Familie von Schonebeck, der ältesten Lehensträger des Hauses Schöneflieth.
English: „Party per pale wavy shield azure and barry of five Argent and gules.“ The arms were granted on January 26, 1939. The bars are derived from the arms of the Von Schonebeck family, the oldest known owners of the Schöneflieth estate in the municipality. The blue right half and the division line refer to the Ems river. As no colours were known for the family arms, the colours of Amt Greven were chosen.
