Description
English: The arms show the old watchtower in the village, which was also used as a mill. The small shield shows the escarbuncle of Kleve. The wheat-ear symbolises the agricultural character of the village. The other plant is a broom, as broom was planted widely in the 19th century to turn the wastelands into fertile agricultural soil.
Deutsch: In Grün über einem silbernen (weißen) Wellenbalken, ein silberner (weißer) fünfzinniger Turm mit zwei Fenstern und einem Fallgitter, darauf ein kleiner roter Schild mit einen achtstrahligen goldenen (gelben) Lilienhaspel, der Turm unten begleitet vorn von einer goldenen (gelben) Weizenähre und hinten von einem goldenen (gelben) Ginsterstrauch. Der Beobachtungsturm steht heute noch in Hamminkeln. Die Weizenähre steht für die Landwirtschaft; der Ginster ist ein typischer Strauch der Heidelandschaft um Hamminkeln. Die Lilienhaspel weist auf die historische Zugehörigkeit zum Herzogtum Kleve hin, der Wellenbalken symbolisiert die durch die Stadt fließende Issel.
