Deutsch: Die Stadt führt das vom Rat der Stadt Meinerzhagen in seiner Sitzung am 18. April 1975 beschlossene und durch Urkunde des Regierungspräsidenten in Arnsberg vom 14. Juli 1975 - 31.1.21-03 - genehmigte Wappen. „Geteilt, im größeren oberen Feld in Gelb (Gold) wachsender roter, weiß(silber-)bewehrter Löwe über blauem Andreaskreuz, unten ein rot-weiß (-silbern) geschacht, belegt mit gelbem (goldenem) Jagdhorn.“ Das Wappen kombiniert die Symbole der früheren Herrscher der Region. Der Löwe steht für das Herzogtum Berg (ab 1174), das Andreaskreuz steht für Herren von Badinghagen, welche großen Einfluss im früheren Amt Meinerzhagen hatten, der Schachbalken stammt von den Grafen von der Mark (ab 1311) und das Jagdhorn entstammt dem Wappen der Gemeinde Valbert.
English: „The arms were granted on June 14, 1975. The arms combine elements of the former rulers in the region. The lion is taken from the arms of the Duchy of Berg, the chequered base from the arms of the Counts of the Mark, as the city was historically part of the County mark. The cross is taken from the Lords von Badinghagen, who had several possessions in the former Amt Meinerzhagen. The horn is taken from the former arms of Valbert.“
