Deutsch: Das schwarze Balkenkreuz im oberen vorderen Wappenteil soll verdeutlichen, dass Mosbruch kirchlich bis 1803 zum Kurfürstentum Köln gehörte. Die Kurfürsten von Köln waren auch Besitzer des Mosbrucher Weihers, in dem Fischzucht betrieben wurde. Der silberne Äbtissinenstab im oberen hinteren Wappenteil versinnbildlicht die hl. Mechthild. Sie ist die Patronin der Kapelle des Ortsteils Zumried. Die silbernen gekreuzten Kerzen unten im Wappen stehen als Symbol für den hl. Blasius. Der hl. Blasius ist der Patron der Kapelle in Mosbruch. Der Ort gehörte zu Zeiten der Feudalherrschaft zur Grafschaft Virneburg. Die Grafen von Virneburg führten in ihrem Wappen auf silbernem Grund 7 rote Rauten. Eine Raute ist deshalb in den unteren Wappenteil eingegangen. |
