Object history
Deutsch: Der Ort Neuhütten entstand als Glasmachersiedlung im Spessart und ist eine von vier kurmainzischen Glashütten, die 1477 erstmals genannt werden. Daran erinnern die Quarzkristalle als Symbol der Glasmacherei. Das Rad ist dem Wappen des Kurstaates Mainz entnommen und weist zusammen mit den Farben Silber und Rot auf die lange Zugehörigkeit des Gemeindegebiets zum Kurstaat bis zum Ende des Alten Reichs 1803 hin.
