Object history
Deutsch: Die Ortsherrschaft über Ostelsheim hatten die Grafen von Calw inne, später teils die Pfalzgrafen von Tübingen, teils bis 1282 die Grafen von Vaihingen, eine Nebenlinie der Grafen von Calw. Um 1357 fiel der Ort an Württemberg. 1439 verkaufte der Pfarrer Hans Söler von Richtenberg auch die Kirche und den Kirchensatz an Württemberg. Die Gemeindesiegel zeigten mindestens seit 1930 lediglich den von zwei gekreuzten Palmzweigen umgebenen Großbuchstaben O. Das am 20. Februar 1948 vom Innenministerium Württemberg-Hohenzollern verliehene Wappen lehnt sich an das Wappen der Söler von Richtenberg an (in von Gold und Schwarz geteiltem Schild ein gekrönter Löwe in verwechselten Farben). Der Löwe kann auch als Hinweis auf das Wappen der Grafen von Calw und Vaihingen angesehen werden. Im unteren Feld ist das Fleckenzeichen Ostelsheims, ein Rad, untergebracht.
