Object history
Deutsch: Schwörstadt besteht nach verschiedenen, zwischen 1924 und 1971 erfolgten Gemeindezusammenschlüssen aus Ober- und Niederschwörstadt, Dossenbach und Niederdossenbach. Die beiden Schwörstadt gehörten zum österreichischen Amt Wehr, das 1608 als österreichisches Lehen an die Herren von Schönau überging. Niederdossenbach war als ehemaliges Lehen der Markgrafen von Hachberg-Sausenberg seit 1628 Teil der Herrschaft Schönau-Schwörstadt. Grund- und Landesherren über Dossenbach waren die Markgrafen von Hachberg-Sausenberg und ab 1503 die Markgrafen von Ba-den. Nach der Zusammenlegung von Ober- und Niederschwörstadt zur Gemeinde Schwörstadt 1929 nahm die Gemeinde auf Vorschlag des Generallandesarchivs das noch heute gültige Wappen an. Es ist aus dem leicht veränderten Wappen der Herren von Schönau (vordere Schildhälfte) und dem Löwen der Herrschaft Hachberg-Sausenberg zusammengesetzt.
