Object history
Deutsch: Staudernheim war bis um 1800 ein Lehen der Rheingrafen. Diese führten in ihrem Wappen einen auf schwarzem Untergrund herschauenden silbernen Löwen – die Rheingrafen hatten den Leoparden als Wappentier, ab 1223 auch den Löwen. Neben zwei abgekehrten aufrechten Salmen war das Wappen der Grafen von Salm (Ober-salm) im roten Schild mit goldenen Widerkreuzen bestreut. Eines dieser Kreuze wurde im unteren Schild aufgenommen mit der gleichen Tingierung wie im Salm’schen Wappen.
