Object history
Deutsch: Aus dem Jahr 1530 ist eine farbige Abbildung des Wappens überliefert, von 1596 der erste Siegelabdruck. Bis zur Säkularisation 1803 hat sich das Wappen nicht geändert. Das bambergische Hochstiftswappen weist auf die lange Herrschaft des Bistums Bamberg hin, das Teuschnitz 1388 vom Kloster Langheim erworben und bis zur Säkularisation in seinem Besitz hatte. Im 19. Jahrhundert tauchten verschiedene Wappenbilder auf. So sind auf einer Zeichnung von 1813 anstelle der Türme Bäume zu sehen. Der Schild mit dem Bamberger Löwen wird 1819 durch einen von Silber und Blau geständerten Schild ersetzt. In einem Dienstsiegel von 1885 erscheint der Löwe ohne Schrägleiste. Die Wiederannahme des alten Wappens erfolgte 1895.
