Deutsch: Der bäuerlich gekleidete Mann mit dem Triftern (Getreidesieb, Reuter) ergibt ein volkssprachlich redendes Bild für den Ortsnamen. Tatsächlich ist der Ortsname jedoch von althochdeutsch trufteren (= hin- und herschwingen) abzuleiten und bezeichnet die Männer, die das Holz treiben. Diese Bewegung, das Hin- und Herschwingen, passt aber auch gut zum Getreidesieben. Triftern führt dieses Wappen seit der Verleihung durch Herzog Georg den Reichen von Landshut im Jahr 1486. Schon 1388 hatte der Ort Marktrecht erhalten. Das zur Zeit der Wappenverleihung entstandene Marktsiegel ist durch Abdruck von 1514 erhalten und zeigt das Wappen im Tartschenschild. Das Wappen wurde in der Detailzeichnung und in den Farben vielfach abgeändert. In der Literatur des 19. Jahrhunderts wurde, basierend auf der Bürgermeistermedaille von 1819, der Mann unbekleidet dargestellt; statt dem Getreidesieb (Triftern) hielt er einen Korb, wodurch der Sinnbezug zum Ortsnamen verloren ging. Als zum 1. Januar 1971 die Marktgemeinde Triftern aus dem bisherigen Markt und den Gemeinden Lengsham, Voglarn und Wiesing neu formiert wurde, ging das Wappen juristisch gesehen unter. 1972/78 wurden noch die Gemeinden Anzenkirchen, Neukirchen am Inn und verschiedene Teile aus anderen aufgelösten Gemeinden eingegliedert. Das geschichtliche Wappen wurde von der neuen Gemeinde Triftern 1972 unverändert wieder angenommen. |
