Object history In Wittesheim ist ein spätmittelalterliches Ortsadelgeschlecht nachweisbar, das zur Ministerialität der Grafen von Graisbach gehörte. Das Wappen der Herren von Wittesheim zeigt drei sechsstrahlige Sterne. Zusammen mit einem Schlüssel, dem Attribut des Wittesheimer Kirchenpatrons St. Emmeran, dokumentiert dieses Wappenbild die geschichtliche Entwicklung des Ortes und ergibt ein charakteristisches Hoheitszeichen für die Gemeinde. Die Farben Gold - Blau bzw. Silber - Blau erinnern an die Grafschaft Graisbach bzw. das Fürstentum Pfalz-Neuburg, zu denen Wittesheim gehörte.
