The boy is placing money in the mouth of the dancing lion. The lions are danicing on poles. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. New Years is one of the most important holidays in Vietnam and last 4 days. At midnight every Vietnam family whispers prayers. Bells ring and drums beat in the temples. The first morning is reserved for the family, that is, the husband’s family. The second day is for visiting the wife’s family and close friends. The third day is for the community outside the family by visits to teachers, bosses or a helpful physician. The fourth day sees the banks and stores open and business is conducted more cheerfully than usual. |
