Notice:
English: The "Kriegshilfswerk für das Deutsche Rote Kreuz" (KHW; German for "War relief for the German Red Cross") is not to confuse with the "Winterhilfswerk des Deutschen Volkes" (WHW; German for "Winter relief of the German people"). The WHW as self-contained "Foundation under public law" was subordinated to the "National socialist welfare". The WHW was organised originally on local level as association for social welfare for needy persons (for instance in Danzig 1934). However, the KHW was subordinated to the "Reich Ministry of Public Enlightenment and Propaganda" and there to the "Department of Propaganda". Both organisation were outlawed finally by the Act No. 2 of the Allied Control Authority for the Allied Occupated Zones of Germany (Kontrollratsgesetz Nr. 2) from 10 October 1945 and their assets confiscated.
