A common site for most railroad stations throughout North America including Parrsboro, was the luggage cart and tugger motor.

This original restored luggage cart was in use during the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century. Its primary function was to transport passenger luggage, freight and postal mail between the depot and railroad baggage car. The earlier luggage carts were hauled by hand or horse and later by a motorized machine such as the “Tugger”. The large wheels, metal frame and wooden base were designed to be at railroad car level, for ease of moving items on and off the train.
