Description
Italiano: Duomo di Milano, dettaglio dalla base del gotico candelabro Trivulzio, di anonimo maestro anglo-normanno dei primi del Duecento. Si tratta di una menorah, che simboleggia il passaggio dall'Antica Alleanza (quella con gli ebrei) alla Nuova Alleanza (quella con la chiesa cristiana). È decorato con finissime immagini rappresentanti figure allegoriche, simboli zodiacali e religiosi.
    • Nei tondi qui si vede a sinistra, Noè che libera la colomba dll'Arca e a destra Il sacrificio di Isacco.
    • Al di sopra, due figure allegoriche di Virtù che trionfano sui Vizi
    • In cima, due figure allegoriche: una delle Arti liberali (a sinistra) e uno dei fiumi del Paradiso (a destra).
    • Alla base, il dragone attaccato da bambini e da scimmie armate, simboleggia la lotta fra il Male e il Bene.
