Description

World War I Daily Mail Official War Photograph, Series IX, No. 69, titled "Night Scene on British Front. July 1st 1916". The obverse carries the following information: "Passed by Censor" and "The use of rockets, star-shells and fire signals by night over the battle area produces effects which "Tommy" has often declared out-do the greatest firework displays at home."
