The town of Xizhou, formerly a military outpost that helped to guard important trade routes (including silk and tea) for the Nanzhao Kingdom, is located on the western shore of Er Hai (Ear Lake), about 10 mi (16km) north of Dali and just south of Zhoucheng. Today, the town is a showcase for Bai culture, including the entertainment shown here. |
