ZONE TOUR DE LA BOURSE INSTALLATION Une enquête sur... BIOGRAPHIE DE L'ARTISTE Après avoir déménagé à Montréal en 1994, David Butler suit une pratique multidisciplinaire provenant d'études en linguistique, en histoire de l'art, en photographie et, plus récemment, en sculpture. Il termine actuellement une maîtrise en beaux-arts à l'Université Concordia. DÉMARCHE DU PROJET Utilisant comme thème les ruines, David Butler crée des objets, des images et des installations qui semblent coincés dans le temps, oscillants entre le passé, le présent et l'avenir. Ses oeuvres forcent le spectateur à examiner leur propre place dans un monde de plus en plus défini par des images, un monde qui, comme la ruine, est à la fois présent et absent, qui existe à la fois dans le matériel et dans l'imaginaire.
