Description
English: This 1976 photograph, taken at the Centers for Disease Control headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, showed Gary Noble, M.D., M.P.H. (left) going over laboratory findings with David J. Sencer, M.D., M.P.H. Drs. Sencer and Noble were discussing aspects of the A/New Jersey/76 influenza virus, also known as the "swine flu" virus threat. Dr. Sencer served as a CDC Director from 1966 through 1977, the period in which the organization underwent its greatest expansion.
