Wir danken Fred Meijer für die Bestätigung der Eigenhändigkeit auf Basis von Fotografien. Die vorliegenden Gemälde sind charakteristische Werke des flämischen Künstlers, der eine ganze Generation französischer, italienischer und niederländischer Stilllebenmaler beeinflusste. Dargestellt ist auf einem Bild die Strecke nach einem Jagdtag, mit Hunden auf der rechten Seite. Das Gegenstück zeigt eine Parklandschaft mit exotischen Tieren - einem Pfau, Papagei, Truthahn, Hühnern, zwei Hasen und einem Meerschweinchen. Ein Gemälde mit ähnlicher Komposition wurde am 7. Juli 2005 bei Sotheby’s London versteigert (Lot 128). David de Coninck war Schüler von Pieter Boel und wahrscheinlich auch von Jan Fyt. 1663 wurde er als Meister in die Antwerpener Lukasgilde aufgenommen. 1670 reiste er über Bayern, Wien und Venedig nach Rom, wo er sich niederließ. In Rom wurde er 1686 Mitglied der Akademie, bevor er 1687 wieder nach Antwerpen zurückkehrte. 1699 übersiedelte er nach Brüssel und wurde 1701 als Meister in die dortige Gilde aufgenommen wurde. Seine Stillleben mit Früchten und erlegtem Wild, seine Jagdszenen und Tierstücke sind meist in warmen, satten Farben gehalten und orientieren sich in ihren Kompositionen an den Werken Jan Fyts. |
