  • Oblong prentenboek met handgekleurde gravures (8 paginagroot en 1 met 4 scènes op een blad) en rijmende tekst. Hans, een deugniet, verlaat zijn ouderlijk huis als hij twaalf jaar is. Hij gaat in de leer als pruikenmakersjongen, werkt als Hansworst op de kermis, geeft zich uit voor dokter, werkt als Pierrot bij Lehman, wordt koetsier, dresseur, beledigt een zwarte knecht die wraak neemt en probeert het dan als wijnhuis-muzikant.
