Description A close up photo of the rebar in the deck. The continuous mat using a high performance concrete bare deck and solid stainless steel reinforced deck is designed for added durability and very low maintenance as part of the FHWA, Highways for LIFE project with Vtrans to replace the a functionally obsolete two lane rural bridge using innovative technology. It also used integral abutments to eliminate deck joints and bearings at abutments and had a curbless, deck rail system.
