English: Decorative brick - a Tudor Swan. This deocrative brick is believed to date from Tudor times. It is one of several set into the walls of the Arts and Crafts cottage on the site of the former Surlingham brickyard. The cottage was built in 1923 on the site of the then Surlingham brickyard. It was adjoined by several kilns on the river side. The timberframed walls are decorated with broken bricks found at the bottom of the kilns. For a wider view taken several months ago see > 1358334.
