Description
English: A U.S. Navy MZ-3A manned airship, Advanced Airship Flying Laboratory, derived from the commercial A-170 series blimp, lands at Lake Front Airport in New Orleans, La., to provide logistical support for the Deepwater Horizon Response Unified Command and the Gulf of Mexico oil spill on July 8, 2010. The Coast Guard requested the support of the Navy vehicle to help detect oil, direct skimming vessels and look for wildlife that may be threatened by oil.
