Ελληνικά: Το Δημαρέτειο δεκάδραχμο των Συρακουσών, του 478-466 π.Χ., κόπηκε σε ανάμνηση της νικηφόρας μάχης των Ελλήνων εναντίον των Καρχηδονίων στη μάχη της Ιμέρας το 480 π.Χ.. Στην πίσω όψη υπάρχει αναπαράσταση της Αρεθούσας, με τη μορφή της Δημαρέτης, συζύγου του Γέλωνα, από όπου προκύπτει και η επωνυμία Δημαρέτειον του νομίσματος
English: Demareteion decadrachm, Syracuse, 478-466 BC. Struck in commemoration of the Battle of Himera in 480 B.C., of the Greek victory against the Carthaginians. The face on the obverse is of nymph Arethusa, but the facial characteristics are of Demareti, wife of Gelon, hence the name Demareteion. |
