English: "The Spanish Steps" in Kolding is located in the upper part of Slotsgade, up towards Koldinghus and creates a passage for the pedestrian to citystreets.
This part of Slotsgade was formerly called Koldings Wall Street because there was 2 significant banks here. Kolding FolkeBank was on one side of the crossing and Sparekassen Kolding on the other side. In 1973 they made a new staircase coating and these stairs were immediately called "The Spanish Steps". In September 1995, consecrated by Lin Utzon's decoration of the Spanish Steps.
Dansk: "Den spanske trappe" i Kolding er beliggende i den øverste del af Slotsgade op mod Koldinghus og skaber en passage til gågaderne.
Denne del af Slotsgade blev tidligere kaldt Koldings Wall Street, fordi Kolding Folkebank lå på den ene side af passagen og Sparekassen Kolding på den anden side. I 1973 lavede man en ny trappebelægning og disse trapper fik straks betegnelsen ”Den spanske trappe”. I september 1995 indviedes Lin Utzons udsmykning af Den spanske trappe. |
