Departing the Linden CTA station (Purple Line) in north suburban Wilmette, IL (approximately 16 miles north of Chicago's downtown Loop area). Linden is currently the northern terminus for this line. Digital photo was taken from the rear car of the CTA train which runs elevated for most of the line except during this portion of the track near the Linden terminus in Wilmette. The station is wildly popular among near North Shore residents as well as workers that don't have the flexibility of dealing with Metra trains which are not quite as frequent as the CTA.
