Der "Rasende Roland" ist eine dampfbetriebene Schmalspur-Kleinbahn auf der Insel Rügen und verkehrt im Regelbetrieb zwischen Lauterbach (Sommermonate), Putbus und Göhren. Seit 2008 firmiert sie unter dem Namen Eisenbahn-Bau- und Betriebsgesellschaft Pressnitztalbahn. Die Strecke ist 24,1 km lang und wird mit historischen dampfbetriebenen Zügen gefahren. Der erste Streckenabschnitt Putbus - Binz, heute noch in Betrieb, wurde 1895 eröffnet. Der damalige Betreiber, die Rügensche Kleinbahn-AG, erweiterte das Netz bis 1899 auf 97,3 km. Eine Strecke führte von Altefähr, gegenüber der Stadt Stralsund, über Putbus nach Göhren (Teil der heutigen Strecke). Die andere Strecke führte von Altenkichen (Kap Arkona) über die Wittower Fähre nach Bergen (Ende der 60er Jahre stillgelegt - leider). - Der Zug kurz vor der Einfahrt in den Bahnhof von Baabe. |
