Deutsch: Die Bark DER VERSUCH wurde 1856 von L. Petermann in Danzig gebaut. Der Stapellauf war am 30. September 1856 (376 NRT). Die Bark wurde mit 11 Mann Besatzung gefahren. Die wechselnden Eigentumsverhältnisse waren wie folgt: 1856 C.J. Rokicki jr., Danzig, 1857 Haußmann & Co., Danzig, 1869 C.A. Beug & Valentin Lachmund, Stralsund, 1876 Carl Siebe & Partner, Stralsund. Am 12. Juli 1883 wurde die Bark auf der Reise mit Steinkohle von Cardiff nach Quebec im Atlantik auf ca. 50°09'N 17°45'W sinkend von der Besatzung verlassen. Alle Mannschaftsmitglieder haben überlebt.[1]
