Description
English: Derry Walls A turret on Derry's Historic Walls. This turret would have been used by look outs to watch the Eastern approach to the City Walls. "The Walls" as they are known as locally, are the most complete town defences in Ireland and date from the period 1613-1618 when they were constructed by the Honourable, the Irish Society as defences for early seventeenth century settlers from England and Scotland.
