English: Derwent Valley Light Railway The Derwent Valley Light Railway officially opened on the 19th of July 1913; it ran for a distance of nearly 16 miles from Layerthorpe Station to Cliffe Common near Selby and was never nationalised. The line closed on the 30th of September 1981 and the only section of the railway still in use comprises a half-mile section within the Murton Park Museum grounds. |
