Very similar to Cubit, but with a considerable degree of re- sistance to downy mildew. Snow's Perfection Pickling, b.s Sy2 234 56 Early, prolific, and rightly popular. Fruits deep green, and dis- tinctly square ended, uniform, and attractive. STAYS GREEN (Black Diamond), w.s 7 2% 60 Used by Southern shippers. Fruits symmetrical, nearly square ended. Very dark green, holds color and firmness well when shipped long distances. Also used for pickling. STRAIGHT-8, w.s 8 2^ 60 Introduced by the Ferry-Morse Seed Co. Fruits uniformly cylindrical, rounded at ends, medium green. An attractive slicing variety. White Wonder, b.s 7 2y2 60 Fruits greenish white; cylindrical with rounded ends. Yorkstate, b.s 6 2y2 58 Developed by H. M. Munger of Cornell University from the same parentage as Ohio MR 17. Fairly resistant to mosaic, not immune. Vine vigorous and prolific; fruits of National Asso- ciation type, but somewhat longer and more pointed at blos- som end.
