Summary edit
Description |
English: The U.S. Navy destroyers fitting out at the Fore River Shipbuilding Company shipyard, Quincy, Massachusetts (USA), on 20 June 1918. USS Murray (Destroyer # 97) is in the foreground, with USS Stribling (Destroyer # 96) outboard. In the middle distance are USS Bell (Destroyer # 95), with USS Dyer (Destroyer # 84) inboard of her. These four destroyers had builder's hull numbers 303, 302, 301 and 279, respectively, and these numbers are painted in small numerals on the ships' bows. A submarine is on the building ways in the background, under the large crane. It is probably USS S-1 (Submarine # 105) or one of the AA-1 class. |
