English: Limestone statue of a mother goddess from ancient Mexico, c. 900 CE. National Museum of Scotland, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. Made by the Huastec People (Mayan Indians living in Mexico). The Huastecs erected many goddess statues and made them the focus of their religion.
