English: Detail from the Pentraeth War Memorial The five men commemorated here belonged respectively to the three Regiments of Foot, the 22nd (Cheshire Regt), the 23rd(Royal Welsh Fusiliers) and the 24th(South Wales Borderers) The stone reads "To the Glory of God and the Undying Remembrance of (the name of five men, a subaltern, an NCO and three Privates follows). The ones who laid down their lives for King and Country in the Great War 1914-1918. 'A protection they were to us night and day' 1 Samuel XXV 16". Thankfully, Pentraeth was spared further losses in WWII.
