Description
English: Deir-e Gachin Caravansarai is one of the greatest caravansarais of Iran which is located in the center of Kavir National Park.
فارسی: کاروانسرای دیر گچین یکی از قدیمی ترین و بزرگترین کاروانسراهای ایران است. این کاروانسرا از مکان‌های ارزشمند و قابل‌توجه ایران کهن به شمار می‌آید که پیشینهٔ آن به دوران حکومت ساسانیان و بازسازی در دوره صفویان بازمی‌گردد. این مجموعهٔ تاریخی در مرکز پارک ملی کویر، مسیر قدیم جادهٔ قم به ورامین یا ساوه به ورامین و گرمسار و در 80 کیلومتری از مرکز استان قم قرارگرفته است. با توجه به قرارگیری این مجموعه در مسیر تردد قم و ساوه به ورامین که در دوران سلجوقیان بارونق و گسترش بسیاری روبرو شد، اهمیت و ارزش آن تا حد بسیار زیادی افزایش یافت و سبب شد که مردم آن دوران به ساخت و احداث قلعه‌ها و کاروانسراهای دیگری ازجمله قلعهٔ سنگی محمدآباد کاج و قلعه گلی در مجاورت این مجموعه بپردازند. پرواضح است که این امر به آبادی و گسترش رونق و شکوفا شدن هرچه بیشتر این منطقه کمک شایانی کرده است.
